True happiness is best
discovered serving others. When we act selflessly for the
sake of another, our original nature, which comes from God emerges, and we
are able to realize who we are beyond our own self-interested
ego. For in serving another unselfishly we are able to see
that person as they are free from any entanglement of
opportunism which normally accompanies human relationships.
Those who commit to living for
the sake of others and give themselves unselfishly to the
challenge often discover the magnificence of one's fellow human
being as well as a new appreciation for nature of God Himself.
God, the parent of all humanity, is the original being who lives
completely for the sake of others investing true love over and
over again unconditionally.
While it is understandable why
people admire heroes, patriots, and saints, to live like one
requires the courage of being willing to be completely misunderstood by those
around you. Because it is so rare to find selfless
individuals outside of a monastery, if we happen to encounter
one often our first reaction is suspicion. Once a person
can accept that their selfless motivation may always be
questioned by others, there is no limit to the joy, satisfaction
and happiness available through serving others expecting nothing
in return.
